About Luca

How it all began. Our beginnings…

It all started in August 2016, when Luca was just three years old. We placed a bid for a used Yamaha PW50 on eBay just for fun. The next morning we woke up… the motorbike had been bought at auction. Collection in Hamburg was quickly organised. So that Luca wouldn’t see the new bike, we parked it at Grandma and Grandad’s for the time being.

At some point, however, he discovered the motorbike hidden under a blanket in Grandpa’s garage. The children’s eyes lit up when they realised that the bike was mine!

However, there was one big, or rather small, problem. Luca was simply still far too small to be able to stay on the motorbike in any way at all, and a few months passed before we actually got started and made our first attempts at riding in the meadow. Once we had the basic skills, in November 2017, when Luca was four years old, we went to a real motocross track for the first time.

Luca completed his first laps on the children’s track in Langgöns. After a stopover in the hedge next to the track and two minor crashes, everyone was happy. Luca in particular was very happy and proud… Now he realised that he didn’t want to do anything else. Unfortunately, this was also the last day of the year that we were able to ride. We didn’t start our next training session until the end of March 2018. In the first few weeks of spring, we went to the children’s track at MCF Laisa. After a short time, problems with the motorbike kept cropping up. We then spontaneously bought a brand new Yamaha PW50 and have never had any problems since. New motorbike = happy child.

Inspired by the fresh material, he took to the big track in Laisa for the first time at the end of May. Luca mastered this without any problems. Unfortunately, training during the week was rarely possible due to working hours, so every Saturday was used for riding.

When Luca finally turned five in July 2018, he asked if he could finally take part in a race. Nothing stood in our way and the time had finally come in August 2018. Luca started with his Yamaha PW50 at the MSR race in Laisa. That was our highlight of the year… He was now infected with a passion for motocross!
