ADAC MX Weekend Gräfentonna
On Saturday 20 August 2022, I took part in the ADAC HTH Weekend in Gräfentonna. We used this event as preparation for the DM65 the following day.
In free practice, the track was in absolutely perfect condition. I got going straight away and was able to set one fast lap after the other, which was obviously fun to watch. At the end of free practice, I was able to set the fastest time, 0.264 seconds ahead of Harry Dale from England.
The subsequent qualifying session was very exciting. In the end, I was able to secure second place and thus roll up to the starting gate in second place for the qualifying runs.Unfortunately, I was only 0.268 seconds behind pole setter Neo Nindelt.Harry Dale was once again behind me.
It started to rain just in time for the races, the track became very slippery and a good feel for the throttle was now required. I got off to a very bad start and had to slot into the back third of the field. Visibility was poor due to the rain, but I kept fighting my way forwards. I was rewarded for my efforts with a strong third place.
The second race just wasn’t going to be what we had imagined for me.A very bad start, including a collision in turn two, didn’t bode well.I crashed three more times during the rest of the race, it was simply a mess. After a pit stop and a change of goggles, I finished in a disappointing seventh place.
With a bit of luck, they still managed to finish third on the day.
